The next title coming from Desert Coyote Productions is Taste of Fire, the second novel by Jeannie Faulkner Barber. The story's just as awesome as this cover ... just check out this description! Incessantly teased by childhood peers over an uncharacteristic scar from a fiery car crash, spirited Terri Neal finds comfort in her father's explanation: "The flames licked your arm, but when it tasted you, it knew you were special, and the fire was afraid." Her father's shadowy death in a mysterious building fire prompts Terri to develop into a dedicated, top-notch firefighter. In a deadly house fire, she sees her father's image through the flickering inferno. He instructs the iron-willed young woman to seek out her biological parents. However, this task will be far from mundane as it propels Terri down a path of intrigue, romance, and peril. In the innocent shadows of daylight, a lethal stalker and kidnapper lurks. Death approaches ... and someone will soon succumb to the insatiable TASTE OF FIRE! Taste of Fire is coming near the end of March-beginning of April from DCP! Keep an eye out! There's a few things coming down the pipeline from Desert Coyote Productions, in the wake of our appearance in Tucson. Check it out!
New Books: There's two new books coming down in the next couple of months. Look for Jeannie Faulkner Barber's second novel, Taste of Fire in late March or early April. Also, keep an eye out for Teresa Richenberger's Sold to the Highest Bidder, sometime this summer. New Promotions: We'll be cross-promoting books from friends of DCP, in addition to our own books. On top of that, as usual, we'll be running Goodreads giveaways on every new title that comes out. Speaking of which, the current giveaway for Don A. Martinez's newest novel, The Insurgent's Journal, has only seven days remaining for folks to enter to win one of five signed copies! And speaking of The Insurgent's Journal ... New Interactive Experience: We've started work on a Tumblr feed which will allow DCP's readers to interact with us. Not the authors, mind you ... the characters! Keep an eye on this space, and when we're ready, we'll roll out our official Phantom Squadron Tumblr Ask blog. Expect it to come from the future, and to relate to the picture at the top of this news posting .... Keep an eye out for all of this new goodness, coming soon from DCP! Desert Coyote Productions will be going silent this weekend, as we will be in Tucson, Arizona for the 4th annual Tucson Festival of Books!
Come see us at booth #128, on the West Mall area between the U of A Student Union and Old Chemistry buildings. Our booth is a corner tent directly across the road from the Student Union, so you can't miss us. You'll have an opportunity to pick up copies of all of DCP's books, as well as meet DCP author Don A. Martinez (The Advance Guard, Dinetah Dragon, The Insurgent's Journal) as well as DCP cover designer (and U of A alumnus) Stacey Martinez, whose cover designs grace most of our books (An Unlikely Arrangement, Scent of Double Deception, Sin Secrets and Salvation, An Angel Box). We will also be doing some special events while we're there. We'll be taking pre-orders on the next DCP release, Jeannie Faulkner Barber's Taste of Fire. We'll be having a festival drawing for signed, personalized copies of DCP's books. Friends of the Festival, don't think we've forgotten about you: we have special deals for Friends of the Festival on all our books and our package deals! And as always at these events, we'd love for you to stop by and see us, even if it's just to chat. We love people. We don't bite. (Hard.) For more information on the Festival, including a map to show you the exact location we'll be, head over to www.tucsonfestivalofbooks.org. We'll see you in Arizona this weekend! A lot of activity is coming up on the horizon for DCP and our books!
First off, if you've noticed around the site, we've got two giveaways going right now! And one of them ends fairly soon, so if you want a chance to win you'd better get your entry in! You've got a little longer on this giveaway to enter, but not by much: your last day to enter is March 22nd, and on the 23rd we draw! As a reminder, ongoing here at DCP is the CosPlay Challenge. Dress up as a Phantom Squadron character, take a picture, and post it somewhere for your chance to win the complete Phantom Squadron series signed by the author and your choice of merchandise from the DCP Zazzle store. (See earlier blogs for contest details) This weekend (March 10th-11th), DCP will be in the sunny city of Tucson, Arizona for the Tucson Festival of Books on the University of Arizona campus.
